It’s already May!!
I cannot believe I have not blogged in so long, but then again I can!! Our little one keeps me so so busy, but I love it!! He is just growing up so fast and I have been trying not to miss a minute. Nicholas, I cannot believe you are almost 17 months old! You are so cute, so fun, so energetic and I just love you so so much. Sometimes I even think to myself, how could I love the second one as much, hahaha, but I know that won’ t be an issue one day!! Nicholas you are still so tall, almost 30 pounds (Yes I know he is big;) and a blonde hair, blue eyed, sweet, loving, energetic, stubborn boy!!
You are saying so many words now such as: eat, snack, mama, daddy, granddaddy, gigi, mimi, ball, foot, feet, kiss, mwah, apple, cheese, more, bubbles and I know there are more, I just cannot think of them right now!!! I have been spending all my time with you and let’s just say you really are my best buddy and other than your daddy, my most favorite person in the world!!
We have been busy around here, I was keeping kids, but am no longer doing that, I wanted time with just Nicholas!! This past weekend we had Uncle Joel, Uncle Benny, Claire and cousin Julien stay Friday night and we all headed to Roanoke, VA Saturday for cousin Marcelle’s bridal shower and your great grandmother, Edna Swink’s belated 80th birthday party!! It was such a good time seeing some of daddy’s side of the family and you were so good!! You even slept in the crib at the hotel, at least for a bit, I was so worried!!
This week we have been car shopping lots and we got a SUV! We are excited, it was time!! :) We also have had play dates and I hosted Mother’s Morning Out, keeping Mady today and babysat her last night. You and me went and spent all morning at Disovery Place Kids and that was so fun, pictures to come!! Well that is all for now!! Back to busy, fun you!!!

Some much overdue photos from Mimi’s birthday weekend in SC, where we dressed all the boys up in their seersucker suits and went to church with Mimi (Derrick’s mom) and the whole family and then to brunch at yummy Motor Supply Company and some pictures from Easter (To Be continued) I wish I had more!!!!
Derrick’s siblings, all, but Kendra and Matt came to stay with us the weekend of Easter! Claire, Brandon’s (one of Derrick’s brothers) girlfriend was unable to come because she wanted to spend Easter with her family, totally understandable!!:) We missed her! Anyhow Kalin, Bert, Miller, Joel, Julien ( We missed Misty) and Brandon all came to stay with us, we had a full house, but a great time. We played outside, had some good beer, ordered pizza and wings and layed low! On Sunday I had planned and Easter egg hunt with prizes and all for the boys: Julien, Nicholas and Miller. They seemed to have a great time and Nicholas seemed to pick up on how to find and put the Easter eggs in the basket quickly! Julien found most of the eggs, he is three and a half and seemed a little sad when the hunt was over!
I had gotten a ball and a t-shirt (they matched) and say ” Mooing over NC” for each of the boys and had filled the egg with toddler friendly foods, Annie’s cheese bunnies and graham bunnies! Yumm!!! Jules ate everything out of his eggs as quick as possible:) and wanted to hunt for more, luckily when Mimi arrive on Easter Sunday she had an Easter egg hunt planned that the boys were able to do after lunch!!!
If I didn’t say it already we hosted Easter this year, I thought it would be fun and it was!!! I wish my family could have come too, but I am glad we got to spend it with Derrick’s and that mom and dad could come too!! I cooked Easter lunch, but it wasn’t so bad because most everyone pitched in some, we had so much good food and sweet mom and dad treated us to a honey baked ham and turkey so that was so nice to not have to bother with!! Everyone enjoyed lunch and dad even told me I needed to teach mom how to make the macaroni and cheese I made, hahaha, funny thing is, I searched everywhere for her recipe and couldn’t find it so I tried mac and cheese in the crock-pot, so easy and so yummy!!!
I also made homemade cookies and a few other things and thank goodness they turned out, after trying to make lemon bars, FAIL and putting Nicholas down for his nap while I made the cookies, which I ended up making by hand because I was scared the mixer would wake him, now that was a job:) they turned out well!!! We had coffee and dessert after lunch and just relaxed. Derrick’s brothers and sisters told us later that day that it was so much fun and the most stress free and relaxing holiday they had had in awhile, that makes a girl feel good!!
I mean I think the holidays should always be fun and stress free, but who am I kidding, they usually aren’t, though they are ALWAYS fun!!!! Easter was great and after everyone left we were tired. I had cleaned the house from top to bottom in preparation for everyone’s visit, I need to do it again now!! Haha, but not happening anytime soon!! Nicholas is sick, poor guy, I am not sure what he has, but he just doesn’t feel well and has a temp of 101.5! He is napping now, I put him down early because I thought he needed some extra rest. I am so glad I got to blog just a little. I hope everyone had a Happy Easter and can you believe it’s already April and so hot out!!!!??? I will add more pics soon!!!
