I cannot believe we only have two weeks to go or less or more, hopefully not more:) I know this might sound funny, but I really want to be at home with Nicholas on Jack’s due date because that is Nicholas’s 2nd birthday and I for sure want to be at home for Christmas because we want to be here with Nicholas, I cannot imagine spending Christmas in the hospital without him!! Anyway I know Jack will come when he is supposed to, but I hope it’s before or after December 18th and not right at Christmas either:) Anyhow I am so so late on updating anything lately, but here goes!
Size of Baby B/Developments this Week: According to the doctor he was 6 pounds 9 oz, but that was last week, this week he didn’t even measure me, odd huh, but last week I got a quick ultrasound and found out he is head down and I wasn’t effaced at all! I am sure he is at least 7 pounds plus now!
Weight Gain So Far: 29.5 pounds! I weighed right after Thanksgiving and the weekend so maybe it was a little high, but probably not. I have been having a serious sweet tooth lately for random things (see below)
Cravings: Hmmm chocolate, peanut m and m’s, chocolate pudding, apple jacks, chocolate milk, muddy buddies and more chocolate! Lol! wow! I also have been loving pumpkin chocolate chip bread that I found at Fresh Market, it’s a good thing it all got eaten at Thanksgiving!
Aversions: None other than garlicky things tend to make me wanna gag!
Symptoms: Let’s see I alter between crazy nesting lady with all this energy to exhausted and having to take a short nap when N does. I also have sciatica in full effect in both legs so that is no fun, but been trying to walk it out as I can!
Movement: I feel like Jack is starting to move less, but is still a night owl, he moves more when I eat sweets!
What I Miss: good sleep, sushi rolls, red wine, deli sandwiches that are cold and seasonal beer!
Things I am Thankful For: Derrick, Nicholas, our families and friends and our Christmas lights!
What I’m looking forward to: Working on the nursery some more, hanging out with friends as much as possible before life gets even busier, Christmas, Mops this week and my sister and Mom coming to visit this week!
Size of Baby B/Developments this Week: He is the size of a large coconut and weigh 4.12 at 34 weeks so I am thinking maybe 6 now, but not sure! I am measuring at exactly 35 weeks and he was head down, but now is breeched again. So bummed about that, I hope he turns soon!
Weight Gain So Far: According to the doctors scale, 26.5 lbs! Here is to hoping it won’t go too much higher, but I am okay if it does, just rather it not:)
Cravings: Hmmm just chocolate really and chocolate milk/milk!
Symptoms: Feeling pretty tired again at almost 36 weeks and a bit moody:) and also achey due to the fact that he is sideways I think and pressing on every nerve in my body, lol, not really, but for sure feeling the sharp shooting pain down both legs and in my lower and middle to upper back. I had the hardest time sleeping last night and hope it is better tonight!
Movement: He is still moving up a storm and always seems like he is dancing in there or punching me when he isn’t asleep!
What I Miss: Sleep, sushi, beer, football games, wine and winter sports, not that I get to do them often, but it would be fun too!
Things I am Thankful For: Family, my little family, a good doctor, good friends here, MOPS and the neighborhood we live in! I am also thankful for all the Christmas lights and wreaths we got to purchase tonight from Lowe’s, I am so excited and ready to get in the Christmas spirit. It is for sure my most favorite holiday and I am really hoping Nicholas will enjoy it and appreciate it this year!
What I’m looking forward to: A small Thanksgiving here, well actually we are going to the North Harbor Club in Davidson for their Thanksgiving feast and it sounds so good, getting the nursery done/complete, I have so much to do, putting Christmas decorations up, Jack’s arrival.
Ahhh I am so far behind and there is so much to say, but while I have a few more minutes to take time to blog since Mimi is in town for the day and took Nicholas to run errands with her,so here goes!
Weight/Length: My guess is 36 inches if not more! He is so tall and I swear gets even taller each week! but I am not sure. My guess is 33 pounds, but have no idea.
Sleep: Since the time change, sleep has been a bit rough. I mean he is sleeping great, but for some reason not quite as long„ He still goes to bed around 8 or later and has been waking up around 6:30 or 6:45, booo:) Naps are usually around 1 until 3 or 3:30 if I am lucky, occasionally if I have really worn him out that morning he will sleep at least three hours sometimes more! I have been trying to nap some too when he naps after I get some things done, just because at 35 weeks preggo, I am so tired again!
Food: Nicholas has become Mr. Picky I tell ya, especially with veggies unless they are in a pouch or it is lettuce with dressing, he pretty much wants nothing to do with it! He will eat sweet potato and veggies if they are hidden in say chili, but there is no getting peas or anything else past him! His favorites are still: turkey, cereal, eggs with cheese or without, bagels, pears, animal cookies (of course), cheese, raisins, grapes, cherry tomatoes and apples. He also loves: oatmeal, yogurt, crackers, bunnies, mac and cheese, tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries, peaches, peanut butter, veggie burgers, chicken and any kind of fruit! He is drinking more water which I am glad about and still ask for OJ or juice if he sees it as well as milk, occasionally he remembers chocolate milk and ask for that!
Developments: I love this age and how much he is talking, He is talking up a storm and saying 4 to 5 word sentences. He knows all his shapes, colors and can count from 1 to 15, with 13 to 15 being a bit difficult. He isn’t having separation anxiety anymore and for the first time ever went to MOPS this past week without crying, which made me feel so much better because it really breaks your heart when you leave and they so don’t want you too!!
Last weekend we had the sibling tour at the hospital where I will be delivering baby number two and Nicholas did so well, I was so proud. He has been around two newborns recently and hasn’t liked it at all, he has looked at me like mom what are you doing holding that baby and the first time was crying nonstop and then screaming until I gave the baby back to my friend to hold and then held him and told him it was okay, the second time was a little better, but he looked at me with the saddest of eyes I had ever seen and so I know having a baby brother is going to be a big transition for him!!
Nicholas loves to give hugs and kisses to mommy and daddy and to his friends and other family members too. I love how sweet he is and just well rounded. Temper tantrums have become a daily thing, but I think it is just normal and I try to handle them the best way possible which is not easy! Any advice is always appreciated there! Nicholas loves to be outside and would stay outside all day if I let him. He loves to ride his bike, his truck, push his lawn mower that I need to put more bubbles in, collect rocks, run away from mommy and daddy, run up and down hills, pet doggies and play on the playground. He loves to go on walks with me too which is so nice because I try and go on daily walks though I haven’t in days!!
Nicholas still loves to read and loves Mickey Mouse. I am pretty sure he ask to watch an episode of Mickey or Elmo each day. He loves trains and has become even more of a fan. Anytime we go to Discovery Place Kids, he spends most of his time at the train table. We try and go to Barnes and Noble once a week too for him to play at the train table there, he loves it!! Nicholas is quite the character and has started to sing Frosty the snowman, he also tries to sing his ABC’s! He loves to say eew yucky or pew when you are changing a stinky diaper, I think daddy taught him that!! Lol!! He knows what he wants, I have to give him that and always says a solid YES or NO!!
Things I am thankful for: That baby Lacey made it here safe and sound and is healthy and so beautiful! The time I got to spend with Stephanie and Kate and Lacey this past Saturday. That I finally got my hair done and we did a lot of de-cluttering and organizing this weekend. I am thankful to be having my house cleaned today for the first time in probably 9 months, I usually do it myself. I am thankful for baby boy who is doing well so far and will be here before we know it and so thankful for Nicholas and Derrick!
Things I am looking forward to: Celebrating Nicholas early this week with his little birthday party on Thursday, we are having a Mickey Mouse themed birthday party! I am also thankful Baby B is healthy and almost here though I am freaking out a bit! I am looking forward to getting the playroom done and getting the nursery ready!
I am so overdue for Nicholas’s 22 month update as well as any updates on Baby Boy number two, but here is a quick 33 week update!!
Size of Baby Bost: 19 inches or so according to webmd and 5lbs, but 4 lbs according to the doctor last week so who knows, I will find out today, I have a big ultrasound!!! My 4th one this time!! Crazy!! Baby boy is breached and has been the whole time so it’s hard for them to know his exact size or even where his head is! They said we would do an ultrasound today and then discuss ways to turn him, eeek! I wish Derrick could go with us, I pray it goes well since we will be at the doctor most likely at least two hours and Nicholas goes with me to all my appointments now a days!
Weight Gain So Far: I will get an exact count today, but I think around 24lbs, This week I’ve eaten like a mad woman, between all the Halloween candy at our house for weeks, date night at the Melting Pot where I did not hold back and a Halloween Party last night, I am pretty sure I’ve climbed up haha! We shall see! Of course who knows, every time I have gone to the doc, I’ve drank, ate and have on lots of clothes!
Cravings: Candy and chocolate!
Aversions: None really!
Symptoms: My back and side and leg have been hurting!
What I Miss: Still wine and holiday beer and wearing most of my clothes, every top I own is way too short, thank goodness for cute maternity shirts my friends let me borrow this time around! I Hate buying that stuff if I don’t have to!
Things I am Thankful For/looking forward to: Thankful for a new to me SUV that is comfy and that I love, thankful for a fun Halloween and that Nicholas truly enjoyed it, thankful to be his mom and for his baby brother on the way and thankful for Derrick, my family and friends!
Size of Baby Bost: 17 inches from head to toe and 3 lbs according to WebMD:)
Weight Gain So Far: ugh my least favorite part haha as I am sure it is everyone’s! 20 lbs
Cravings: Mexican suddenly more, turkey sandwiches, chocolate, milk, fruit and that is about it for now!
Aversions: None really!
Symptoms: The only thing really bothering me is my back and left hip, for some reason they have just started killing me this past week!
What I Miss: Still wine, wearing most of my clothes, winter/fall seasonal beers! Yummy!
Things I am Thankful For/looking forward to: I am so thankful I get to be a mom to Nicholas and to have Derrick as my husband and best friend. I am thankful we sold our sequoia and I got a new SUV on Monday, it’s beautiful and I love love love it! I am thankful for all the friends I have made here in NC, thankful it’s football season, thankful it’s Fall and so excited for our trip to the pumpkin patch tomorrow with MOPS!!
